This website is owned, maintained, and operated by the Mark Prairie Historical Society, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in the state of Oregon.
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Your name, email address, and the messages you share with us via any of the contact forms on this site will be retained by our team indefinitely. We may use it to reach out to you about opportunities to engage with or support our organization.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Visitor communications including comments and contact form responses may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
When using our store to buy merchandise and event tickets, you name and shipping information may be shared with a few companies. Their names and privacy policies may be found below.
If you would like us to clear your data from our website database, please let us know. We will remove it.
